Transcription: Start with a simple shape like a rectangle and draw another shape on top of it. Clone the second shape and reposition the clone. Press the shift key as you drag the clone to make it move in a straight line. Group the two clones, then select all and align the shapes. Center them. You'll find Illustrator's Align command in the Objects menu and CorelDRAW's in the Arrange menu. In freehand, use the Align palette.
